Sunkel started Sunkel Plumbing and Heating back in 1955. He had a dream of providing plumbing and heating service to the residents of Mclean County. He had been a builder of new homes prior to obtaining a Master plumbers license at the very beginning of the states requirements to be licensed in Illinois. Morris R. Sunkel started officially in June of 1964. Although he had helped in the summer and after school most of his teen years. Some of you remember our variety store in Bloomington at 1004 W. Market Street across from the former Baumgarts Coal & Lumber store. There we sold dime store and hardware type commodities as well as based the Sunkel Plumbing business out of the office there. Jason Sunkel also works as a plumber and is an integral part of the business since about 1992. Our philosophy is still to serve Mclean County with honor and integrity providing the ultimate service.
