Rytina Fine Cleaners is a third-generation family business that has operated in the Sacramento region for the past 50 years. Founded by Walter and Friedel Schoen and their 18-year-old daughter Isolde (the only one in the family who spoke English), Rytina first opened its doors in 1958 on Yorktown Avenue, off of El Camino and Watt Avenues. During the past five decades, they have cleaned Oscar ball gowns, restored historic textile artifacts for the Smithsonian Institute and the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and hundreds of wedding and ball gowns.
