Geoffrey Orley and Bahram Shabahang first met in the bazaars of Isfahan in 1971. Geoff was visiting as a traveler, a lover of Persian textiles and carpets in particular. Bahram happened to be working at his family's storefront and had the collecting of carpets in his family dating back to when a forebear of his family served as carpet finder for a king of the Safavid dynasty. Through their shared passion for finely-crafted beautiful carpets, a lifelong friendship was born.
