As an engineer, he hated the stillness of the day, and wanted to be outside and active. While engaged to his wife Leah, he purchased a grand piano for her to have when she moved into his home after the wedding. When it arrived, the piano mover scratched the floor, forgot the bench, and handled the piano roughly. He also charged sales tax, which was illegal in the moving industry., , Andrew felt that he could move pianos better and cheaper.
