Hiltz, Sr. purchased a small local trucking company in Gloucester, MA. With a handful of employees, including his son and son-in-law, Hiltz created a, well-recognized local brand that has endured to this day. Hiltz's grandson, Donald, took the company to the next level by partnering with Greyhound Van Lines and constructing a state-of-the-art storage warehouse in 1969. In 1978 the company became an agent for Bekins Van Lines. Today the company is owned by husband and wife team Jane Hiltz Carpenter and Marshall Carpenter. Both having worked for the company since the early 1970's, the Carpenters purchased the moving business when Donald Hiltz retired in 1991. An Agent for National Van Lines, Hiltz Moving and Storage is able to service moves anywhere in the U.S. as well as internationally.
