Specializing in service commercial and home services, City Compost provides weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly pick up for discarded food and other compostables at homes and businesses. \n\nWe have three major programs:\n- Kitchen Scraps\n- Yard Material\n- Animal Bedding\n\n100% of this material is directed back into the soil as compost for growing more clean healthy food. All types of food can be included, a fresh container is left with each pick up, plus material collected by City Compost is processed independently and balanced with only clean sources to create the highest quality compost possible. On top of all of this, all compost that is made can be received back by home customers after it is screening and testing or it goes to support local growing. City Compost started as a collection service for residents in Cambridge and Somerville. After realizing the quality of ingredients being included at the compost facility being used, City Compost began a pilot processing operation to compost on it's own. Now, green compostables picked up by City Compost are only processed with material serviced by City Compost and balanced with clean carbon sources. \n\nService is available across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, & New Hampshire.
